The low-gain, zero-feedback, dual-mono, single-ended triode Red October headphone amplifier uses a 300B tube for each channel's transformer-couple output, these driven driven by a single 12AX7 double triode. As well as a volume control, there are five headphone outputs on the front panel, with impedances of 8, 16, 32, 100, and 300 ohms, respectively. The Red October can be switched between the headphone outputs and its 8 ohm speaker outputs with a rear-mounted rocker switch.
